Hammock House Wedding
Have you ever had that moment where you heard an idea and thought to yourself, “Oh yeah… this is really going to be something special”. That was what happened when I first sat down with Chris and Molly. After having a chance encounter at a bridal show, this amazing couple signed on for partial planning services and we were off and running on an amazing adventure to create their wedding! I remember it was during our first planning meeting that I realized their wedding was going to be anything but ordinary and the path we took to get there was going to be a very fun ride for the next year. Before I get ahead of myself, let’s take a look at a few images from Rudy + Marta Photography that set the tone for the whole day…
Invitation Suite: Minted | Dinner Ticket Menu Cards: Custom Designed by The Bride

See, Chris and Molly are no ordinary couple. They met at Rollins College when they were both working on producing a play for the Drama department. Their story is absolutely adorable. It was a match made in the stars… Star Wars that is! It was a shared love of Star Wars that brought this couple together on that day. Molly is a scenic artist and works to design sets and amazing works of art for productions. And Chris? Well, he builds everything Molly designs! This will play an important role later on in their story!
During that first planning meeting, I asked Molly to describe her perfect day… She told me, “A Big Irish Wedding, Down by the River, with Food Trucks and ALL the market lights!” It was a beautiful vision and a task I was so excited to conquer with them. Molly is Irish and it was during a backpacking adventure through Ireland that Chris proposed to Molly. She explained to me that her dream was to get married barefoot by the River and have a big Irish celebration into the wee hours of the morning. They had already booked their venue, Hammock House on the Wekiva River and they both knew it was perfect for their dream day! Well everyone, I am SO excited to present Molly and Chris’ Hammock House Wedding and greenery forest fairytale vision to you in real life. Without further delay, this is their Big Irish Wedding, Down by the River…
One of the sharpest looking Groom’s we have ever seen! Chris was all set for his Hammock House Wedding!
Molly was the definition of Princess as she floated through her woodland kingdom to Chris for their first look!
We get goosebumps and tears every time we see this photo! Such pure emotion…
If this is not the most amazing looking bridal party you have ever seen… I don’t know what is!
When Daddy’s only little girl becomes a Bride.
In true production fashion, this sign (and many others at the wedding) were free handed and hand painted by the Bride & Bridal Party.
Remember when I said Chris builds everything Molly designs? Well, example number 1 and 2. This Arbor and the frame for the entry doors? Custom built by Chris!
One of our absolute favorites from this day!
Molly got her river wedding… just like she dreamed about!
The incredible floral was designed by Flower Girl Designs.
So this is where things really get beautiful. As if the stunning riverside ceremony wasn’t enough, guests were treated to a big Outdoor, Irish celebration afterwards! The level of detail that went into designing this space is something dreams are made of. Every last thing was chosen with careful precision to bring this dream vision to life. From the clear top tent and market lights to the french country chairs and gold flatware, Orlando Wedding and Party Rentals was the first stop we made to begin creating this day. Next, we searched through hundreds of linens to find the perfect combination of outdoor beauty at Over the Top Linen. Varieties of textures and tones were chosen to create a luxury look but give the space a natural feel for this Hammock House Wedding.
More custom work from the Bride! Place cards and the window frames that held them!

Notice how some of the flowers have a unique look to them? That’s because they are actually paper flowers hand made by Molly! Her way of adding a special touch to the centerpieces. Oh… and those beautiful wooden boxes? Designed and built by Chris!
Custom Palette Wall: Designed and built by Chris
Greenery played an important part in the design of this wedding. The Bride loved the natural, earthy look it created and we thought it accented the design perfectly. We are seeing this as a big trend in weddings right now!
You know that moment where a tree stump is poorly placed and you are not sure how you are going to place your tent properly? Well, when your Bride and Groom are theater people they find an easy solution! Molly decided that they would just come out and level this off and make it their cake stand. And an amazing cake stand it was! Molly also designed the cake by hand and Bakers Cottage Cakes brought her amazing vision to life!
All of the amazing musical entertainment was provided by Bay Kings Band… and wow did they keep the dance floor packed all night!!
Remember the food truck part of the couples vision? Oh it totally happened!!
This truly was a party to remember! I don’t think anyone will forget Molly and Chris’ Hammock House wedding for a long time (I know we won’t!). Last but not least, Captured by Elle was there to record the entire day and make sure that every kiss, every laugh and every dance move was captured forever and ever. We absolutely love their teaser and we hope you do too!!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Pepe(gan)!
